EMPOP’s third international transcribathon is coming up on Thursday, October 24th—Thursday broadly conceived. The event begins when the 24th begins in Australia, with original EMPOP star Erin McCarthy at the University of Newcastle. This means that those of us in the western hemisphere can join her online while it’s still Wednesday for us. As the earth turns Europe toward the sun, past winners of the pedagogy award, Carlo Bajetta and Ileana Sasu, will again join in with their students at l’Università della Valle d’Aosta. When the day starts on the east coast of the U.S., original EMPOP star Faith Acker will be representing at the Folger Shakespeare Library. Shortly thereafter, students at Virginia Commonwealth University will try to do their part.
We plan to resume work on both Folger MS V.a.339 and Harry Ransom Center, Medieval and Early Modern MSS 79.
Can you join us? Why not let us know, whether by emailing email@example.com or by tweeting #EMPOPstars?
